Innovation Park is honored to host the traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial on October 5-8th. The Wall event is sponsored by the Veterans Benefits Center in Lock Haven and WPSU. This special event is being held in conjunction with both “The Vietnam War” documentary and the WPSU Documentary titled “A Time to Heal” showing now on PBS. All programming is in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

The Wall will arrive at the Park by Motorcycle Honor Escort at approximately 5:00PM on Wednesday, October 4th. We expect the number of motorcycles escorting the Wall to be in the hundreds. All riders are welcome to participate in the Honor Escort. The location of the Wall will be in the green space between the 100 (Outreach) & 200 (Technology Center) Innovation Boulevard Buildings.

In order to maintain a safe driving and walking environment, the traffic control plan (found here) calls for state and local police to stop traffic at the appropriate intersections during the arrival and procession of the Wall and Honor Escort. The eastbound inside lane of Innovation Boulevard will be restricted for motorcycle parking following the escort arrival. Riders are invited to a Welcome Ceremony in the parking lot of the Technology Center Building. If your schedule permits, we encourage you to plan to stay, line the sidewalks and welcome home the women and men who gave their lives in service to our country. If you need to leave for another commitment, we encourage you to exit prior to the Wall and Honor Escort arrival.

Parking arrangements for local and regional visitors to the Wall have been graciously accommodated by The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. If visitors unknowingly wander to other locations, we ask for your patience, understanding, and welcoming spirit. It’s a unique event.

Friday is Education Day. Area high schools have been invited to meet Vietnam War veterans, hear stories, and see a reenactment camp. Buses will be located in the restricted lane on Friday.

The Traveling Wall “Schedule of Events” can be found here. We encourage you to visit the Wall and attend the concerts or ceremonies based on your interest.

If you have any questions, feel free to call or email.
